Ambitious and bright, Kristin Herrera is rising the ranks as the next young sensation, starring in Paramount’s “Freedom Writers” out in February 07.

Born in the Los Angeles, Herrera caught the acting bug early. She started booking commercials at the tender age of six and worked steadily for the next five years.  After performing in a play Herrera was motivated to take her acting career to the theatrical level.

In the last three years, this beauty has guest starred on such shows as “The Division” “ER,” “7th Heaven,” “NYPD Blue,” “General Hospital” and “The Bernie Mac Show.”  Her first big break was the Nickelodeon comedy hit “Zoey 101,” where Herrera played Dana, the gorgeous, sarcastic strong-willed “mean girl,” who is Zoey’s best friend and roommate. “It’s really been an exciting challenge playing someone who is the complete opposite of my real-life personality,” says the vivacious Herrera.

Herrera makes her big screen debut as “Gloria” in Paramount’s feature “Freedom Writers” where she plays a broken teenager who tries to overcome the low expectations her family has set for her.

Herrera now resides in Los Angeles where she enjoys basketball, surfing and snowboarding, and is also pursuing her education, taking psychology classes at a local college.
