Dr. Melville Singer helps children's hearts. He has been doing so for over 50 years. Even at 81 years of age he is a practicing Pediatric Cardiologist at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), also providing services to California Children's Services and Harbor General Hospital. Dr. Melville Singer teaches other doctors to do what he does. An Emeritus Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology, he currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at UCLA and UCI Colleges of Medicine, and a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at USC College of Medicine. His service to national and Orange County organizations is extensive. He has been the president of the Orange County Heart Association as well as founder and director of its Rheumatic Fever Diagnostic Clinic, and has been an active member of the California Heart Association. With close ties to Garden Grove, Dr. Singer has been an advisor to the Garden Grove Unified School District, working as a physician in its phonocardioscan program, advising nurse practitioners and receiving for his outstanding services the PTA State Honorary Service Award and the NAPNAP Pal of the Year Award. In addition to benefiting children in Orange County and the U.S., Dr. Melville Singer has helped children's hearts to function all over the world, traveling as a Pediatric Cardiologist consultant to the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau, Fiji and Saipan. |
